How it’s calculated
We take a sample of the account’s 100 most recent followers and check each one for public warning signs:
- Bot signs: follows far more accounts than follow it back, or an auto-generated username.
- Quiet signs: no videos, no followers, an empty bio.
A follower counts as suspicious with two bot signs, or one bot sign plus several quiet ones. One with only quiet signs counts as inactive or brand-new — lots of real people watch TikTok without ever posting. The authenticity score is 100 minus the suspicious share.
What the result can and can’t tell you
This is an estimate from public signals, not proof. A real person who never posts looks inactive; a carefully made fake can look real. Treat a high suspicious share as a reason to look closer, not a verdict.
