Where shares show in YouTube Studio
YouTube does not show a public share count under a video. You see shares in YouTube Studio: open Analytics for the video, choose Advanced mode and add Shares as a metric. Studio also tells you where traffic came from, so you can see how many views arrived from links shared outside YouTube.

Viewers arriving that way are often new to your channel, and they show up in Studio as external traffic. Videos that answer a question or tell a story are the ones people forward most.
