Starting a group from zero

Facebook groups grow through invitations, search and suggestions in people's feeds. In every case, the person deciding whether to join sees the member count first. A group with 12 members looks like a private chat among friends; one with a few hundred looks like a community.

How to claim

Copy your group's link (facebook.com/groups/...) and paste it here with an email address, then confirm with the six-digit code we email you. The group should be public, or at least visible in search, with member approval set so new members are not left waiting. We never ask for your Facebook login, and each account and email can claim once.

Paid group members

Paid members start at $3 for 100 worldwide, with India, Germany, Malaysia and US options, including USA men and USA women for groups aimed at one audience. Delivery takes one to three days.

Why member count matters for a Facebook group

When someone finds a Facebook group, its member count is shown right under the name, along with how active it is. People join groups that look like real communities, and a new group with a handful of members rarely gets the requests it needs to grow.

Making the most of your free group members

Set your group up first: a clear name, description, rules and a few welcome posts. Then claim the free members and invite your own contacts while they arrive. Post questions that invite replies, since group activity is what keeps members engaged. For more, Facebook group members are available worldwide or from several countries.
