Why poll votes matter

Polls are one of the easiest ways to get a quiet channel's readers to do something. A single tap is all it takes, and the results show straight away. The total number of votes appears under the poll, so it doubles as a sign of how active the channel is. A poll with eleven votes on a channel with ten thousand subscribers tells readers the channel is not really read. A poll with a few hundred votes looks like a channel where people take part.

Telegram poll votes add votes to a poll in your channel. They raise the total, and they can go on a particular answer if you want one option to lead.

How Telegram polls show results

In channels, polls are anonymous: readers see the total number of votes and the percentage for each answer, but not who voted. A poll can allow one answer or several, and it can be a quiz, with one correct answer. Results appear once someone has voted, or when the poll is closed. The admin can stop a poll at any time, after which no more votes can be added.

How Telegram poll votes work

• Post the poll in your public channel.
• Copy its link: long-press the poll and tap Copy Link.
• Place the order with that link and the amount you want.
• Tell us the answer: send your order number and the answer (for example "option 2" or the answer's text) through our contact page. Without it, votes are spread across the answers.

A poll link looks like t.me/yourchannel/123. Keep the poll open until the order has finished; votes cannot be added to a closed poll.

Who buys Telegram poll votes

• Channel owners who use polls to keep readers involved.
• Crypto and trading channels asking readers about the market.
• Content creators letting readers choose the next topic.
• Brands running product polls and launches.
• Contest organisers running public votes in a channel.

A note on contests

If your poll decides a prize or a competition, read its rules before ordering votes. Many contests forbid paid votes, and an entrant who uses them can be disqualified. Poll votes suit polls you run yourself, in your own channel, to show that readers take part.

Write polls people answer

Good polls are short and easy to answer. Ask one clear question, keep the answers to a handful of options, and make them balanced so no answer is obviously right. Questions about what readers want ("Which topic next week?"), what they think ("Where is the price going?") or what they do ("How do you study?") get the most votes. Post the result in a follow-up message; readers like to see what happened with their answer.

How many votes look natural

Keep the vote count in proportion to your channel's post views. A poll with 500 views and 3,000 votes looks wrong, because each voter has to see the poll. If your posts usually get a few thousand views, a few hundred votes looks like a well-answered poll. When you put votes on one answer, leave the other answers with a believable share rather than zero.

A worked example

A tech news channel posts a poll asking readers which phone they will buy next, with four answers. It orders a modest number of votes spread across the answers, so the poll has a healthy total from the start. Readers who see the poll vote too, and the next day the channel posts the results with a short comment on each phone. The channel now runs a poll every week, and readers have started suggesting the questions themselves in the comments under each result.

Use the results

A poll is only worth running if you do something with the answer. Post the result in a follow-up message, say what you will change because of it, and mention the poll when you do. Readers who see that their votes shaped the channel are more likely to vote in the next poll and to read the posts that came out of it. Some channels run a poll on the same day every week, so readers learn to look for it.

Before you order

• Make sure the channel is public and the poll is open.
• Use the link to the poll post, not the channel.
• If you want votes on one answer, send it with your order number through the contact page.

What poll votes do not do

Poll votes add votes to the poll. They do not add subscribers, views on other posts, reactions or comments. For those, see Telegram members, Telegram post views and Telegram reactions.
