What boosts are

Telegram Premium users can boost channels they like. Each boost adds to the channel's boost count, and as the count rises, the channel reaches higher boost levels. Each level unlocks features that ordinary channels do not have. Boosts are Telegram's way of letting a channel's most committed readers help it grow.

Telegram boosts add boosts to your channel, raising its level so you can use the features it unlocks.

What boost levels unlock

Telegram decides what each level unlocks and changes the list from time to time. Features tied to boost levels have included:

• Stories on your channel, and more stories per day at higher levels.
• Custom reactions, including custom emoji, under your posts.
• Colours and backgrounds for your channel's name, links and wallpaper.
• An emoji status for the channel.
• Voice-to-text and other extras for readers in groups.

Open your channel's boost page in Telegram to see the current levels and what each one unlocks.

How Telegram boosts work

• Open your channel, go to its statistics or boosts section and copy the boost link.
• Paste it on the order form, choose the amount and check out.
• Watch your level rise on the channel's boost page.

A boost link looks like t.me/boost/yourchannel. Your normal channel link usually works too, but the boost link is the one Telegram gives you for this. The channel should be public.

How long boosts last

A boost comes from a Premium user and stays active while their boost does. Telegram ties boosts to Premium subscriptions, so a boost can end when the booster's Premium ends or after the period Telegram sets, and users can move their boosts to other channels. Expect your boost count to change over time, and check the options on the order form for what each one covers.

Who buys Telegram boosts

Ask your readers to boost too

Your Premium readers can boost your channel for free as part of their subscription. Post your boost link with a short note about what the next level unlocks ("12 more boosts and we can post stories"), thank boosters in a post and remind readers now and then. Telegram also lets channels run giveaways of Premium subscriptions, which bring boosts with them.

Use the features you unlock

Boosts are only worth it if you use what they unlock. Once stories are available, post them regularly. With custom reactions, choose a set that fits your channel's style. With colours and a background, make your channel recognisable. Features that are unlocked but unused do nothing for your readers.

Boosts and Premium members

Boosts and Premium members are different. Premium members join your channel and raise your member count; boosts raise your boost level and unlock features. If you want both a larger audience and the features, you need both. See Telegram Premium members.

A worked example

A cooking channel wants to post recipe stories but does not have enough boosts. It posts its boost link with a note asking Premium readers to help unlock stories, and orders boosts to reach the level it needs. Once stories are unlocked, it posts a daily story showing one step of the day's recipe with a link to the full post. Readers who enjoy the stories boost the channel too, and it reaches the next level, which unlocks custom reactions.

Check your boost page

The boosts section of your channel shows your current level, how many boosts you need for the next one, which boosts are active and when each one expires. Check it regularly, especially before a launch that relies on a boosted feature such as stories. If several boosts are due to expire at once, plan ahead: ask readers to boost, run a Premium giveaway or renew your order, so your channel does not lose a feature in the middle of a campaign. Telegram also shows the list of boosters, so you can thank the readers who support you.

Boosts for groups

Groups linked to your channel can also benefit from boosts. Check your group settings in Telegram for the perks available to boosted groups, which change from time to time.

What boosts do not do
