Keep the numbers realistic

On X, a post's likes are usually a small fraction of its views - often well under 1%. So a post with 50,000 views and 30 likes is normal, while one with 200 views and 500 likes isn't. Impressions pair well with a modest order of likes.

A note on creator payouts: X's revenue-sharing programme has required an X Premium subscription plus thresholds such as 500 verified followers and millions of organic impressions over three months, and X has changed how payouts are calculated more than once. Purchased engagement isn't organic and shouldn't be used to try to qualify - check X's current creator terms for what applies to you.

A higher view count helps a post look seen. Whether people reply, repost or follow still depends on the post itself - a clear first line, something worth reacting to, and replies from you when people respond.

X shows the view count, not where viewers came from, so the market mostly affects price and your own analytics. Brazil, Germany, India, Italy, the UK and the USA all start at $2 for 1,000, which makes them the most affordable per view. Worldwide is $3 for 100. If your audience is in one of those countries, pick it; if not, the cheapest country option still lifts the visible number.

Impressions and engagement together

Readers compare the view count with likes, reposts and replies. On real posts, engagement is usually a small fraction of views, often under a few percent. A post with 20,000 views and 300 likes looks normal; one with 20,000 views and two likes looks like it was ignored. For an important post, add a modest number of likes or reposts alongside the impressions.

Write posts that hold attention

Impressions bring eyes to a post. What happens next depends on the post itself. A strong first line, one clear idea, an image or short video where it helps, and a reason to reply all make readers stay, react and follow. Impressions work best on posts that are already good.
