A re-up is Audiomack's repost. When someone re-ups your song or album, it goes out to their followers and onto their profile, in front of listeners who would never have found it otherwise. It is the platform's main word-of-mouth tool, and the re-up count on a release shows new listeners that others rated it enough to pass on.

Delivery takes one to three days. Choose song re-ups for a single or your focus track, and album re-ups for a full project.

When re-ups help most

• On release day and in the first week, when a new release is most likely to be picked up by listeners and curators.
• On your focus track, the one you are promoting on social media and to DJs, rather than a deep cut.
• Before pitching to playlists or blogs, so the release they open already looks shared.

Plays, comments and re-ups

Plays show a track has been heard, comments show listeners reacting, and re-ups show it being passed on. Releases that look healthy usually have all three in a sensible ratio. If a track has few plays, start there.

Song re-ups and album re-ups are both $2 for 50, delivered over one to three days. Larger orders are multiples of 50, with a package discount that grows with the order: 5% off two or three packs, 10% off four or five, and 15% off ten or twenty. Choose the type that matches the link you paste.

Which link to use

Open the song or album on Audiomack and copy the link from the share button or the address bar. Song links look like audiomack.com/yourname/song/song-title; album links look like audiomack.com/yourname/album/album-title. Use the song or album link, not your artist profile. Each order goes to one link.

How many re-ups look natural

Re-ups are rarer than plays and favourites. Most listeners play a song; only some re-up it to their followers. As a rough guide:

• Songs with under 1,000 plays: 50 re-ups.
• Songs with a few thousand plays: 50 to 150 re-ups.
• Songs with tens of thousands of plays: 200 or more, spread over a few days.

If a song is brand new, build plays first or in the same go, so the re-ups sit next to a song that people are clearly listening to.
