Tips To Get more Video Views on Facebook | SMMSUMO

1: Create the Facebook Ad Campaign to Promote Your Video.

Your video is ready, so now go to Power Editor to create your ads. When you’re creating your ad, choose the Video Views objective. This will show your ad to people most likely to watch your video for a longer period of time.
At the Ad Set level, choose your budget and then set your video ad to go live at the same time your organic video will be posted.
Below this, choose your ad targeting. Consider demographics and interests, much like you do for the tags you place on your organic video. To increase viewer retention rates, you should also target based on language; there’s no point showing your video to people who don’t speak the same language.

2: Make the First Comment Prior to Release.

Before the video goes live, add the first comment. You can apply this strategy to blog posts and social media posts, too. When you make the first comment, it can increase watch times and clicks significantly. To get that 100% viewer completion rate, you need to be using every tool at your disposal, and that first comment is one of them.

3: Upload Your Video to Your Page’s Video Library.

Many marketers upload their video directly into the Facebook ad system, but this strategy works most effectively when you upload the video to your page’s video library instead.
You can find your video library under the Publishing Tools section. On the right, click the Upload button to upload a new video.
While you can choose videos in any format, it’s best to go for a widescreen video with an image ratio of 1920 x 1080 pixels. This choice allows mobile users to turn their phones and watch the video in landscape mode, providing the absolute best user experience.
Remember, to get to 100% video completion rates, you need to create the best user experience possible so people will stick around to watch your video. This is particularly important for longer videos, including vlogs.
The exception to this is micro-content. If you’re creating shorter videos (2 minutes or less), square aspect ratios (1080 x 1080) are the way to go.

4: Add captions to your videos.

Even though Facebook now auto-plays videos on the mobile News Feed with sound, it’s unclear how many people watch videos with the sound on. Facebook users can disable the auto-play-with-sound feature, and videos will auto-play without sound if the mobile phone is on silent mode.
My hunch is that most Facebook users still watch videos without sound.
If a viewer can’t understand your video without the sound, you would likely lose that viewer and the opportunity to convey your message to her.
To prevent that, you can add captions to your videos through Facebook. When you are uploading your video onto Facebook, there’s an option to upload a SRT file of your captions. You can also add captions to existing Facebook videos by editing the video.

5: Add a link in your description.

Besides your description being search friendly, you should always add a link in it. I think it is better to make it so easy to do what you want your viewer to do. Adding a link is a no-brainer.

6: Post at the optimal time.

Posting time is crucial. If you want the most views, post it when the most people are online. It’s as simple as that.

7: Embed it on your blog.

I love the idea of embedding your youtube video on your blog like I did here. It allows for cross traffic to your Facebook page from your website. Plus, it gives your blog post that multimedia which is always a good thing!

8: Share your video link on other social channels.

Everything you share needs marketing behind it. That means you should share that link to the video across the web. The more places you put it, the better off you are.

9: Reshare your video on your page.

Once the traffic and views have died down, reshare it on your personal page and to your fan page again. You’ll never reach everyone on your FB page so you might as well reshare and comment on older things to bring them to the surface again.
